Tariffs- Statements that we have from Toy Companies

SSM Update- We spoke with Judi today, they have 3 containers that arrived this week. They had to pay a tariff fee on these containers. This is why they increased their prices as of Monday April 7th. They have four more containers on the water and are dreading the tariffs that might be imposed on them.

Statement from Stacy at A&A-
At the moment we have not raised any prices. Current prices will be honored for all orders placed on their website this weekend. Complete the order and make sure you get confirmation with the current prices.  They are still deciding on when and how much they will be increasing their toys.
Fun Express:
Fun Express has not raised prices due to the recent tariff announcement last week.
We are still monitoring the landscape and have asked our overseas makers, regardless of their location, to absorb as much of the tariff increases as possible.
All items that are currently in stock in our warehouse will not receive a price increase. That would be unfair to our customers as these items have already been received and paid for.
As we start to see increases due to tariffs, we will analyze each purchase and negotiate as needed.
Fun Express has been working to shift business to alternate makers in other countries as well for a while now.
At this time, Fun Express does not plan to initiate a price increase across the board for all items but instead wait to see the landed cost on individual items based on their origination.
From Anthony at Big Apple-
In regards to the tariffs, I don’t have a solid answer right now. The situation keeps changing, from 10% to 20% to 54% in a matter of weeks. Since everything keeps changing, any plan we make can change as well.
Right now, what we have in stock, the prices are going to remain the same, as we buy new toys, each item individually will have to be repriced. It is not going to be 54% of list price, as it is 54% of my price minus the shipping. On a rough average that is about $3-4 a bag of 250. There are some items that may be a bit less, some that may be bit more. We are actively looking for new and different items, or perhaps some older items that can be “new” again, that may be a bit cheaper then what is on offer now.
Bottom line is in a few months, if the tariffs remain, the cost is going to rise, on the toys, and on pretty much everything.
